I figured since we’re about to embark on a big time demo tour on Wednesday, I’d throw up a few photos from Badass Meets Dumbass (believe it or not, I think that was the last time we did a trip like this). That trip started off with the smoking van getting pinched by the border patrol on the first day. Hopefully we get off to a better start this time.
Roberts had a mean Lebowski thing happening back then.
Our second drive of the trip hit a 28 hour detour thanks to some flooding in Texas.
Mike is mad because Rickk just tore his sleeve off for fun. Sometimes when you’re at a spot til 3 in the morning shit just gets weird.
There were a lot of kids with home made t-shirts on that trip. Those are always cool.
Malto in Atlanta. I think this was the official dawn of the Malto Age.
Fall asleep in the van and you usually end up as entertainment.
Kenny back nose blunting in KC. Can’t wait to go back there and eat barbecue… I mean skate that spot again.
Eldridge came up on some solid fan art at the Pitcrew demo.
Pitcrew was the half way point. The crew at that demo was pretty epic.
Myrtle Beach. This kid probably got a t-shirt for shotgunning that red bull.
My favorite pic of a spot conference. J Rog and Alex deep in thought.
You never know what you’re going to run into on the road. At a Cracker Barrel in Colorado we met John Foggerty and his family. He gave us autographs and the guys gave autographs to his kids. Can’t wait to get back out there.
Puerto Rico was way too fun for just one video. Here’s a much lower quality one for your time-wasting pleasure.
A couple of weeks ago we had a meeting at Cory and Elijah’s house to talk about a top secret video project. When we got there Cory was already filming. That has to be a good sign.
Aside from the Trunks we had a heavy managerial presence on hand. (Making high powered phone deals no doubt.)
Vinnie is off the wheeling machine and walking around! He’s gonna be killing it in no time. Snake was there for creative input too.
Stevie always finds the most comfortable seat in the house.
Eli thinking deep thoughts while Vinnie, Stevie and a Bear take in the footy.
These guys had some pretty funny shit on tape.
Before we adjourned Carroll had to handle the social media duties. You’ve probably already seen this on Vine, Instagram and Snapchat.
You can’t have a skate video meeting without some skating. We broke out the ramps and Elijah and Guy went to work.
The guys started out mellow.
Then Elijah started pulling out the big guns. Serious Judo.
This is a make.
Guy took it personal and decided to show the kids how they used to do it. 360 Saran Wrap! (that’s probably not even labeled right.)
Rick even got involved in the action. Elijah went Evel Kinevil over him.
Then Guy shut it down. If this was a jump ramp video we’d be done already.
Took a quick weekend trip up to the Bay with Cory, Elijah, Stevie and a bunch of the homies this weekend. First stop was Raven’s in Santa Cruz. Cory’s really gunning for that Monster sponsorship.
Awesome collage at Raven’s house. I’d show you the contents of Raven’s new safe but he already forgot the combination.
As usual Logan had the best grip job on the trip.
First stop on the trip was Dolores park. Pretty rough warm up but Cory got it. While he was skating a tranny told us we were disrespecting him then tried to casually walk off with Cory’s phone. That place is always interesting.
Elijah was doubling as my light man and Burt Reynolds in Playgirl.
We got kicked out of our first apartment after one night there so Machine Gun Kelly here let us crash at his place the next few.
Don’t try this at home. Or maybe do, I don’t know.
We hit this spot in Oakland. This thing is a bitch, T-Blood is a beast!
Cory would have landed this gap to wallride…
If he hadn’t ended up under a car. Next time you got it!
Last stop we went to this gem. Switch Back Board!
Warm up tricks are a lot more serious these days. Stevie with a nollie back lip.
Switch back fifty. Sheesh.
And then it was time for the real shit.
Nike had a big party for Koston’s new shoe release last night.
There was a heavy golf vibe going on.
On the way in you had to walk through a maze of Eric’s old video parts. Nike has so much money they could afford to display G.G. Allin’s frozen head next to his Chomp part.
They had turned the street course at 6th and Mill into a mini golf course of old skate spots. P-Rod is feeling the Hubba Hideout hole big time.
There were a ton of people there. Buscemi with Bud x Fried Chicken Activation.
Jimmy Gorecki!
Artistic Italians! Feddy and Alberto.
Legendary Lances!
There was a big time Skateboarder Mag reunion going on. (as seen here)
Young Hollywood. Muller and Adrian. Sam was hoping some girls might see this post. Doubtful.
Teebs and Beebs.
Curtis trying to look all non-chalant and shit.
Stoney Rippers. Stevie and Jordan.
Friendly Fight Club, Brad and O’Mealls
Dubbs and Reda!
Rad dads caught in the headlights. Humphries and Buddy.
Mikey, Lee and Nak.
Island Lumberjack Shier.
This security guard was the Blackouts biggest fan.
Staba illustrating the definition of a criddler.
DL was having an awesome time as always.
Play some Elliot Smith Sang!
Where you at Roberts? Mini-Courthouse
When it was time for his big entrance Brad delivered Eric on a golf cart. They’re trying to run me over right here.
Malto was angling for a good photo of the man of the hour.
It’s a great honor to have won the PGA tour!
Congrats Eric!
To help us celebrate the release of the new Fourstar line, Grain LA had a little photo show of stuff we shot on the Four Live Crew tour in Florida last year.
I was kind of concerned that all the expensive furniture and art around the gallery was going to take a beating but luckily everything worked out ok.
My two fellow documentarians on this trip: Sam Smyth and EA lookin’ all regal and shit in front of a Samsklub original.
EA put the whole thing together himself. Not only did he print all the photos and hang them up, he handmade a bunch of zines from the trip.
The dude even catered the event! Thanks EA you killed it!
A lot of people showed up. This is Clint Peterson’s dog Sadie. She’s a looker.
Searcy and John made sure the smoking section stayed appropriately street.
Casey and Eldy!
Beebs showed up straight from a 7 hour tattoo sitting. Smyth approved!
Eldy and Teebs go way back.
These guys go way backer than that! Frost man and Rickk!
Guy, Eldy and Otis O’meally tripping on Marc Suciu’s 19th amazing part this year.
Otis was so psyched he had to ditch the art scene and go skate.
Jerry mean mugging while Sam trips on some shit.
Carroll started the night on some old Mike McGill/Clark Kent vibe.
Jumped into the phone booth…
And came out looking all True Romance. (With Jordyclot’s help)
Amber alert!! Wheatley kidnapping Sam.
And I’ll let them take it from here…
I went to the Transworld awards/Video Premier last night in Hollywood. Tommy Guerrero won the Legends award. It was really rad to see.
Back to the start of the night, we ran into Federico and Snewman out soliciting Hollywood sketchiness.
Then It was off to the Bowery to meet the Mayor of the Block and posse up for the awards.
Beebs helped art direct this group shot. Lee Dawg setting trends with the shirtlessness. A running theme for the night.
SOTY posse! Tony, Furry and BA.
Feds was born to work the red carpet. Getting in a quick Q and A from Blair.
Ran into Tuan outside the theater!
Inside I was stunned to get an Olson sighting in the lounge area. “Back in the 70′s these award shows used to mean something!”
My favorite CEO, Dubbs was there!
I went up to the balcony to say what’s up to the 2128 posse and almost got mugged by these maniacs! Sam and Cory were on a rampage.
My old roommates Cheeks and Jay. Chico thought my name was Fred when I lived with him.
Na-Kel was there and ready to go. That jacket and this wallpaper were made for each other.
Casey and Dameech in the crowd. One of my favorite skate photogs!
Guy accepting his readers choice award. Good choice readers!
Axion Reunion! Bri and Kareem were super stoked for Guy.
Then DGK won best team. Stevie gave a really rad speech.
Aesthetics Reunion! My favorite presenters of the evening, Sal and Rob.
Pretty Sweet won best video! After seeing first hand how much work all the guys put into this thing it was awesome to see them get recognized for it.
Sam couldn’t give a bad speech if he tried. Brian was so psyched he took his shirt off.
Mike was really hyped for Tommy. Hometown Hero Pride.
Then Cory started doing some impromtu announcing with a little beat boxing thrown in.
The music started playing.
Cory almost went Sean Penn on me right here! That’s what I get for being the paparazzi.
Guy won video part of the year! Congrats Guy you earned the fuck out of it.
Guy and Vince on the way out. Vinnie is off the crutches! Good times last night, thanks TWS.
