In 1993, weeks after we moved into the back of X-Large’s Glendale warehouse, Spike and Rickk announced they were going to buy a van. I said, “we have no money” and Spike said, “we need to go on tour”. They left for the dealership and after 5 or 6 hours of anxiety, I went to find them. They were playing tennis in the parking lot of the dealership. I walked up to Spike who explained to me that they were “breaking down the salesman” by “waiting out the day and holding out for the right deal”. I personally feel like they were just playing tennis but they did buy a van $2000 below sticker price. - via @crailringer
